So you installed new, super energy-efficient windows to lower your energy bills and your carbon footprint? Great job, but don’t throw the old ones in a landfill! As long as it’s still in one piece, most household construction and remodeling “waste” can easily be re-used by someone else. There’s a great 
company dedicated to doing just that: Habitat ReStore. So take your old floorboards, light fixtures and sinks to any of these locations in Texas. Call ahead to make sure they’ll take what you’ve got, however.
Once you get there, you’ll find out it’s also a great place to shop! It’s like Home Depot or Lowe’s but much more affordable. And spending your money here instead is a great way to support reuse and recycling.
